Wallace D. Wiley

Founder

In 1976 Wally felt that God was calling him to work with Mission Aviation Fellowship and was sent to Irian Jaya, Indonesia, now called Papua, Indonesia. Over the next decades in Papua, Wally’s role transitioned from construction manager, to base manager, to program manager, to MAF Indonesia regional manager.

He founded Sekolah Papua Harapan in 2007 out of a passion to see godly leaders from Papua. He continues to expand the education ministry and to work to establish a hospital and clinics in the Papuan province.

Jacinda Basinger, M.A, LMHC

Leadership Team Advisor

Jacinda joined Sekolah Papua Harapan in 2012 as an administrative consultant for the Leadership Team. Just recently appointed to the position of the Leadership Team Advisor, her roles include directing the board members to ensure strategic planning and progress aligning with the vision and mission school; Papuan future leaders for Papua, Indonesia, and the world, through Character, Attitudes, Skills, and Habits.

She graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a B.A. in Theatre and Theology as well as a certification in Elementary Education. She then went on to get her M.A in Counseling from Nyack College, Alliance Theological Seminary. She has worked in Seattle for two years before moving to New York City to pursue further education.

Sostenis Pasang, M.Ed., M.Ed.Lead

Secondary Principal

He joined Sekolah Papua Harapan as a computer teacher in 2012 after completing his bachelor degree in Secondary Biology Education from Teachers College, Universitas Pelita Harapan. He has played several roles at SPH from teaching as a computer specialist teacher and Grade 3 homeroom teacher consecutively to leading the school as a Curriculum Coordinator/Teacher Trainer and then as a Principal.

After several years serving at SPH, Sostenis took a study leave and earned two master’s degrees: Education specialising in TESOL and Educational Leadership from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Upon completion of his studies he returned to SPH in 2019 and served as a Curriculum and Professional Development Advisor. Beginning the 2019/2020 school year he appointed to the position of Secondary Principal.

Winda Trifena Itaar, S.S., M.Pd

Primary Principal

Familiarly called as ibu Fenna obtained her bachelor degree in English program from STBA Yapari-ABA Bandung in 2002 and a master’s degree in Education from Teachers College, Universitas Pelita Harapan in 2009. She started her career as a teacher in 2004 at Cahaya Bangsa Classical School Bandung. She then returned to her homeland, Papua to serve as a teacher at Bethany School Jayapura. After completing her master’s studies, she taught several schools: SDH Makassar, Sekolah YPJ Kuala Kencana, Papua National School in Jayapura, before she decided to join Sekolah Papua Harapan in 2014.

Ibu Fenna has a deep passion to always grow both spiritually and professionally through her ministry as a principal for the primary department. She remarkably hopes that Papuan children receive a holistic education to prepare them to become future leaders.

Cindy Diah, S.E

Teacher Mentor

Even though she graduated with a bachelor of Economics at Universitas Brawijaya, Malang and had worked in that industry for one year, her heart was and has been really in education.

Beginning in 2000 she undertook several education and teaching workshops. Following her passion, she started her journey as an educator through serving as a principal at SD Charis in Malang. Several years later she moved to Papua and took the principal role at TK Kalam Kudus Kotaraja, Jayapura. These extensive school leadership experiences have been her great resource as a Teacher Mentor in supporting the teachers and staff at Sekolah Papua Harapan since 2015.

Acep Memori YT Loi, B.Sc., S.Pd

Secondary Curriculum Coordinator/Teacher Trainer

Acep Memori YT Loi joined Sekolah Papua Harapan in 2017. He serves ad Curriculum Coordinator and Teacher Trainer for SMP and SMA. He received his Bachelor of Education majoring in Mathematics from Teachers College, Universitas Peliha Harapan.

He started his journey as a teacher in 2014. He served as Physics and Physical Education Teacher in Sekolah Lentera Harapan Nias for two years. In 2016, He moved to Sangihe and served as Curriculum Coordinator and Teacher Trainer for one year. From there, God called him to serve in Papua, especially in Sekolah Papua Harapan.

He has a passion to sustain Christian Education Curriculum and see godly leaders from Papua. He believes that education is the most valuable way to influence students’ life.

Hana Desriana, B.Sc., S.Pd 

Primary Curriculum Coordinator / Teacher Trainer

Ms. Hana started her career as an internship teacher at St. John school at Bekasi. At 2012 she joined SPH as a Young School Councelor and Grade 5 Homeroom teacher, then at July 2014 she became a Christian Studies Teacher and since July 2017 she became a CC/TT for the school's Kindergarten and Elementary class.

Yusak Theo Wamea, SE 

General Affairs Manager

Yusak Theo Wamea joined SPH in 2018 as a General Affairs Manager. Previously, he worked in the hotel industry for 10 years. He chose to join SPH as his contribution in the Papua’s educational sector. He graduated from a private university in Jayapura with a bachelor of Economy specialising in human resource management.

Yusak is determined to develop human resource in Papua. With this spirit, he believes that serving with SPH is the right way, through which he shares his experience and skills with the fellow employees and students.
